Satara Jagirs - Bhor
The territory of Bhor was a part of the estate of Shahaji Bhonsle, a prominent Bijapuri General whose estate extended from Wai to Baramati to Pune till the Ghats. The estate was managed by Dadaji Kondadeo in his absence. By 1646, Shahaji's son Sivaji rebelled and started his career by conquering the forts in his father's estates and expanding further in all directions. The territory changed hands many a time and the Mughals who replaced Bijapur bounced back to take back the whole area on the death of Shivaji in 1680. Shivaji's son Shambhaji was captured and executed and after Rajaram became the ruler, Marathas retaliated again. The rebellion in Bhor area was led by Shankarji Narayan Gandekar, a Desastha Brahmin.
The line trace origins to the son of a Deshasth Brahmin Prahladpant by name Mukundpant who left his village Gandapur in search for better opportunities and settled in Mangdari near Pune.
