A bulk of these estates are handed over as a temporary estate in return for protecting the roads and similar services.
Basoda
Basoda was formed as a family split of Kurwai in 1722 on the death of Diler Khan. In 1842, Ahsanullah Khan gave a part of his estate to his son Muhammad Khan who carved the kingdom of Muhammadgarh. Asad Ali Khan, as the Diwan of Bhopal was found to have intrigued with Dastagir, a claimant to the Bhopal throne and was deported to Benares. In 1858, he paid a fine and was allowed to return back.
