Bashahr and Tributaries

The origin of the rulers of Bushahr is not known. It is generally accepted that they are local chiefs ruling Kamru whose rule started from unknown dates and they lived as vassals of Zhangzhung, Tibet and Guge. Kinnaur got it's opportunity when Khasa-Malla Kingdom conquered Guge and during the reign of Pratapamalla, Kinnaur rebelled and split itself into individual Thakurais. Amidst fragmentation, frequent wars and Guge intervention, one such Thakurai was that of Kamru which was founded by Pradyumna in that period. This Thakurai was on the main trade route from India to Tibet and soon became a force to contend with.
In Kinnaur, every deity has a priest and a grokch or a mouthpiece. The grokch narrates the story of the deity in auspicious occasions and these utterances are called chironings. The chironing of Badrinath of Kamru approximately goes thus.

Bushahr or Kamru Badrinath became the seat of Devapurna.
